Who are the legends of the forest?

“Legends of the Forest” was created far from the lights of the cities, in the mountains of Colorado, USA – where forests and mountains still whisper, all four seasons determine the rhythm and imagination is something quite commonplace.

For many years, these lovingly handcrafted beings lived almost exclusively in one place: their Elf House high up in the Colorado Mountains, with their always eagerly anticipated annual appearances at festive events such as the Colorado Renaissance Festival in Larkspur, Colorado.

Each individual figure is created by the founder Carmen Kuhns and her artists from different countries – united by a shared passion for storytelling, craftsmanship and the quiet power of nature.

There is no mass production here. Every gnome, every fairy, every elf and every forest spirit is handmade and shines with its own character, its own charm and its own legend.

Until now, these forest creatures have been difficult to find – known primarily to collectors, travelers, and those lucky enough to encounter them by pure chance. But legends are destined to spread.

For the first time , “Legends of the Forest” crosses the Atlantic and sets foot on European soil – the journey begins in Germany. This arrival is more than just a change of location. It is an invitation. An invitation to slow down, to look more closely, and to remember a world where wonder was once part of everyday life. Here, in a land rich in its own myths, forests, and fairy tales, the legends find a new home. They come not as souvenirs, but as companions – guardians of stories, symbols of imagination, and also as a gentle reminder that legends have never truly disappeared.

You can find the legends of "Legends of the Forest" in Europe exclusively at Arwendayle in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, the most beautiful medieval town in Germany.
